Reputed to have the longest main street in country Victoria, Heathcote’s High Street is a great place to start if you’re looking to wander in and out of some lovely stores.
Find pretty gifts and homewares at Rutherford & Maine, fabulous local produce at the Wine Hub, forage for quirky antiques at Fetching Treasures or check out the great opportunity shops. Specialty stores offer wine, art, clothing and more, and there are also all the services you may need – such as a supermarket, post office and newsagent.
On the first Saturday of every month, High Street is home to the Bush Market where you can browse through a variety of stalls selling everything from local produce, to plants, beauty products and jewellery.
Head just a couple of minutes out of the centre of town and discover McIvor Highway Recycled Building Materials – a fantastic salvage yard full of treasures from years gone by.
Further afield, enjoy weekly markets and small stores at neighbouring towns such as Redesdale, Tooborac and Toolleen or take a drive through the countryside to discover many of the farm gate produce available for sale.
