After a two year Covid hiatus, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you back to the Heathcote region for a long weekend of wine, food and fun at Heathcote on Show! So whether you’re a seasoned Heathcote on Show veteran, or you’re looking forward to your first trip to the area, we’ve put together our top three tips for getting the most out of our much loved festival this Queen’s Birthday weekend.
1. Jump On The Bus
Forget organising a designated driver and take advantage of our hop-on hop-off shuttle bus service which will give you access to 16 different wineries. The service will run on Saturday and Sunday, so why not book tickets for both days and give yourself plenty of time to explore the region.
For our Bendigo friends, we’ve also arranged a separate service to get you to Heathcote and back, and if you’re coming from Melbourne there are PTV coaches that will get you to us.
Tickets are very limited so make sure you book straight away.
2. Book A Special Event
Whilst there is no fee to visit our 37 official participating venues, a number will be holding special ticketed events in addition to their general Heathcote on Show activities. These always sell out quickly (and a lot already have!), so make sure you download the program to check out everything that is on offer and book in your must-dos!
You’re spoilt for choice with wine & cheese matching masterclasses, exclusive cellar door dinners, evening live music events and peking duck and wine matching sessions just to name a few.
Bookings need to be placed through the individual wineries.
3. Spend A Day In The Main Street
The centre of town will be all a-buzz with 5 fantastic wineries, plus a gin distillery hosting pop-up cellar doors in some of our community buildings. That’s not to mention two more bricks and mortar cellar doors, a wine hub with the largest selection of Heathcote wines and a craft brewery also within walking distance of the pop-ups!
Yes, that's 10 fantastic participating venues all in our main street and if you’ve got the kids with you, don’t forget to pop in at Heathcote’s famous vineyard themed playground. Trust us, you’ll want to dedicate a full day to take your time wandering High Street.
So that’s it, our top three tips for a fantastic Heathcote on Show weekend! Don’t forget to download the program to pick out where you’d like to visit and be sure to book your shuttle bus tickets asap.
