Kennedy Vintners
Food & Drink - Cellar Door & Wineries Heathcote
The Kennedy family have lived and worked the land in the Heathcote region since 1981, when John and Patricia bought a plot of farming land as newlyweds in Corop.
While raising their three children, John and Patricia expanded their farming business into viticulture and established Kennedy Vintners in 2002.
Description
The Kennedy’s vineyard is located on the east-facing slope of the Mount Camel Range, on a site renowned for its beautiful Cambrian soil and aspect. With all three children now grown-up and involved in the family business, the Kennedys specialise in growing high-quality fruit that truly reflects this site.
Younger son Gerard is now the winemaker, producing a range of wines from 100 per cent estate grown fruit. He uses minimal intervention winemaking practices to create wine of unique character.
The Kennedy’s estate range includes Shiraz known for its elegance, structure and savoury character and a dry, textural Rosé.
Their ‘Henrietta’ range champions vibrancy, purity of fruit and true expression of the Kennedy’s vineyard, aided by use of old oak, concrete and stainless steel for ageing. Henrietta Shiraz and Tempranillo are great examples of the progressive side of ‘new’ Heathcote winemaking.
