The annual Strategem Bendigo Winemakers Festival has a new date and location. The festival will showcase Bendigo region wines and local food on Saturday 7 May in Rosalind Park, Bendigo.
Meet the winemakers of the region, sample hand-crafted red and white wines and feast on delicious regional food. Enjoy all of this with outstanding live music in the historic garden setting of Rosalind Park. This year we're also conducting wine and food masterclasses throughout the day. Learn about the winemaking process and some of the great wine and food matches.
The Strategem Bendigo Winemakers Festival will be the ultimate pop-up cellar door as you taste the flavours of the region from local wineries and regional food producers. Bring a picnic rug and relax in the remarkable historic garden setting in the heart of Bendigo.
Strategem is the principal sponsor of this year's festival. Strategem is a leading provider of accounting, business advisory and wealth management services with offices in Bendigo and Melbourne.
The wine
Meet more than 15 winemakers, have a chat to them and hear their winemaking stories. From fully-flavoured, rich ripe reds to elegant whites, the wines from Bendigo's gold-bearing soils are a wine lover's treasure. The climate and soil of Central Victoria, with its deep soils and long hours of summer sunshine, are ideal for growing Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon for which the region is known. Other local varieties include Merlot, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Semillon, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sparkling.
Don't forget to purchase your take home bottles of wine at cellar door prices!
Entertainment
There will be children’s entertainment for the young in the family, and musical entertainment for the whole family.
The Mockbells will play a nicely balanced repertoire of Jump/Jazz Blues and Swing, with a bit of Latin thrown into the mix.
A Jazz Duo will create a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere whilst you sit and soak up the festival ambience.
The food
Delectable regional foods will be available at a wide variety of stalls throughout the day.
