Bendigo will leap, kick and backflip into the limelight in September when it becomes the home of the National Clubs Gymnastics Carnival and the Australian Aerobics Gymnastics Championships.
With the support of the City of Greater Bendigo and Sport and Recreation Victoria, Gymnastics Australia is excited to host the inaugural National Clubs Carnival - a 10 day festival of gymnastics to be held in Bendigo, Victoria from 17 - 27 September 2015.
Combined with both the annual Aerobics Australian Championships and AeroSchools competition, the inaugural National Clubs Carnival will feature competition from all Gymsports, and include an array of activities and experiences making it a must-attend event this year.
The carnival will be an explosive fusion of fun, entertainment and athleticism, featuring incredible displays of gymnastics from six gymsports. The event will showcase performances of the Olympic disciplines of men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics, as well as the highly energetic sport aerobics and acrobatic gymnastics.
Almost 4,000 competitors, officials, support staff, and additional spectators are expected to attend from across Australia. Make sure you come and experience this amazing festival of gymnastics.
Event Highlights:
• The Australian Aerobics Championships (17 -20 September): Witness the superhuman power from our world class Aerobic Gymnasts, the incredible finesse of the AeroDance teams and the pure agility on display in the competitive AeroScools division.
• Australian Aerobics Championships Premium Session (19 September): Come and support your favourite athlete, cheer on your state or simply watch in wonder as the best of the best in Australian Aerobics dare to take on challenges that need to be seen to be believed.
• World Championship trials, Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (19 September): The Road to Rio begins here. The high performance men’s squad who train out of the AIS in Canberra will be competing for selection onto the Australian team who will travel to Glasgow to compete at the World Championships which is a qualifying event for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. These men will leave nothing to chance when they take to the competition floor knowing they are battling it out for the opportunity to wear the green and gold.
